WH40k Book Club Episode #22 – Mark of Faith by Rachel Harrison

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Can you believe we read a second book in a row that isn’t about Space Marines? Last time was Navigators, and now we’re diving deep into the Adepta Sororitas aka Battle Sisters aka Bolter Bitches aka Nuns with Guns. We both were very excited about picking up Mark of Faith by Rachel Harrison, especially after reading both Celestine and Honourbound. Games Workshop and the Black Library have been pushing the Saints and the Adepta Sororitas in this post-Rift world. While we’ve read several books with the Sororitas in them, this is the first one we’ve read solely dedicated to them. It turns out there an Inquisitor as well, which always makes things interesting. When I say interesting, I mean go pear shaped.

So while I say we were both very excited for this one, did it hold up to our expectations?

We return to both Space Marines and our current favorite ongoing series, Space Marine Conquests. Even better, it’s by one of our favorite authors, Andy Clark. It just released this month, so pick up your copy of Fist of the Imperium by Andy Clark wherever you buy books. Clark has set the bar high after Celestine and Shroud of Night. Does he keep this ball rolling? We can’t wait.

The Mark of Faith by Rachel Harrison vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Spotify! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review! If you haven’t bought the book yet, better do that before giving a listen!

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
