WH40k Book Club Episode #104 – The Martyr’s Tomb by Marc Collins

Last time, on Dawn of Fire, we explicitly ranted about how much this series has lost its way. We were unhappy. Unfortunately, after reading The Martyr’s Tomb by Marc Collins, we’re still unhappy. We only thought the series lost its way with Iron Kingdom. Now it’s truly off course, and what’s worse, this book has NUMEROUS problems with plot consistency.

Buckle up, folks. We didn’t hold back with this one.

But they don’t stay to fight heresy. THAT’S THE PROBLEM.

At this point, just take the Dawn of Fire series behind the shed and put it down Old Yeller style. It’s the humane thing to do.

Next up is Cypher: Lord of the Fallen by John French. What has ol’ Cypher been up to? Does this tie into the Lion’s return at all? Or is this going to be like Chris Wraight’s short story about Erebus? Either way, should be interesting to say the least!

The Martyr’s Tomb by Marc Collins vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
