We were somewhat excited to read The Wrath of the Lost by Chris Forrester. Neither of us likes the Flesh Tearers, but we both find Gabriel Seth to be pretty cool, and we’re always for trying out new authors. I’ll put it this way; we both got out the blood red wine for this podcast. We needed it to temper our own wrath.
We were under the impression that this book was going to be about taking back Cretacia after the Flesh Tearers left it to help Baal with the tyranid problem.
It somehow morphed into being about the Black Rage and the Death Company, and we aren’t even sure how that happened.
If the author’s goal was to make readers feel as much rage and wrath as the Flesh Tearers emulated from the book, he did a good job. It didn’t make us like it at all, however. Hence the need for wine.
Next up is another jump into the wayback, Cadian Blood by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. This is another oldie from the days of calling the Astra Militarum the Imperial Guard. After this last book, we’re needing some time with regular humans instead of the petulant Primaris children.
The Wrath of the Lost by Chris Forrester vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
