We’re sorry and yet not sorry that we chose a limited-edition-only title, Ghazghkull Thraka: Prophet of the Waaagh! by Nate Crowley. We’re sorry, because we know it’s not readily available for everyone just yet. We’re not sorry, because the book was a darn good time.
If you’ve read David Annandale’s Yarrick omnibus or any of the Armageddon books, then most of this story won’t be a surprise for you. However, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t some strong implications for the future regarding the orks or even the Space Wolves. But if you’re like me, who read neither of those book series, then this could be all new to you! (It was to me!) Either way, it’s an entertaining story, and we were entertained talking about it.
Since the Black Library is publishing yet another limited edition copy of a book, but it’s an older book, we’re jumping on that for our next title: Storm of Iron by Graham McNeill. Jen has been clamoring for me to read this book for years, and now I have to. I really was planning on reading it eventually, in between the Horus Heresy and random Blood Angels books. Since the Black Library is celebrating McNeill’s past novel, it seems like there is no time like the present to finally commit.
The Ghazghkull Thraka by Nate Crowley vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
