The second novel in the Dawn of Fire series is finally here, The Gate of Bones by Andy Clark. We were both hesitant about it since we really didn’t like Avenging Son by Gee Haley. However, Andy Clark took us for another wild ride with Custodes, Imperial Fist Primaris, Battle Sisters, Word Bearers, and Iron Warriors, OH MY! We enjoyed practically every minute of it, and we had a great discussion over it.
In particular, we really enjoyed how he wrote the Custodes and the Battle Sisters. After Celestine and now this novel, no one writes the Battle Sisters as well as Andy Clark does. But if I say anything more, I’ll give away too much of this episode.
Next book on the list was supposed to be Astorath: Angel of Mercy by Gee Haley, but since the only format available for the book at the moment is the Limited Edition, which is sold out, we’re holding off on that one for now. Instead, we’re jumping to another book that came in with our Gate of Bones orders, The Deacon of Wounds by David Annandale.
The Gate of Bones by Andy Clark vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review! If you haven’t bought the book yet, better do that before giving a listen! Don’t forget, we are also on Patreon! We have two tiers of unique content for your listening pleasure for only a few bucks a month. We appreciate your love and support regardless of becoming a patron.
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
