Jude Reid’s books have been fairly hit or miss for us. We did not enjoy Daemonbreaker, but we loved Creed: Ashes of Cadia. Then of course there are the mixed feelings between Morvenn Vahl and Fulgrim: The Perfect Son. To be frank, Jude Reid’s Armageddon: Season of Fire could have gone either way. Fortunately for us, it fell into the “highly enjoyable” camp. Which is kind of weird if you think about it, since the wars on Armageddon itself are not very enjoyable.

Seriously, though, when will the Administratum just decide that Armageddon is a lost cause and just Exterminatus the place? It seems like it’s way beyond time. But then again, what would the tabletop players do without this planet of Hives named after underworlds?
We have another Astra Militarum tale on the books (pun intended), Ghosts of Cadia, a sequel to Longshot. Longshot was friggin’ fabulous, and so hopes are high again, even though this will most likely be another story of what it truly means to be a Cadian when you aren’t from Cadia.
Da Freebooterz Code by Justin Woolley (yar!) episode is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
