WH40k Book Club Episode #170 – Death Rider by Rhuairidh James

As we have loved every Krieg book we’ve read so far, we were so stoked to read Death Rider by Rhuairidh James. Unfortunately, this one had so many problems. Even though the story itself is very interesting, something had to have happened in editing and compiling the book. There are too many inconsistencies, too many plot jumps, and, uh, where are the Death Riders? It’s cool to write a book about a Krieg commissar, but I was promised Death Riders.

At least we had Alice, the true hero of the story.

We’re cautious about the next book, Ghost Legion by Mike Brooks. I say we’re cautious, because while we do like Mike Brooks, we weren’t huge fans of Harrowmaster, and this is the sequel. But hey, it could be better than the first book! We’ve seen it before.

The Death Rider by Rhuairidh James episode is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
