WH40k Book Club Episode #163 – Voidscarred by Mike Brooks

Not gonna lie, we were dragging our feet on reading Voidscarred by Mike Brooks, because neither of us like the aeldari. We like his books to be sure, and the idea of more freebooter orks under his pen gave us hope, but the aeldari? We joked that as much as we dreaded it, watch it become one of our favorites. And dangit if that didn’t come true.

We gushed a lot, so gird your loins for this one.

Next book is another that released near the end of 2025—there’s going to be a lot of these, folks—Tomb World by Jonathan D. Beer. From aeldari to necrons, what a way to start the year. But hey, we were dreading Voidscarred, so maybe Tomb World will be great too?

The Voidscarred by Mike Brooks episode is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
