WH40k Book Club Episode #154 – Dawn of Fire: The Silent King by Guy Haley

The end of the Dawn of Fire series is finally here with The Silent King by Guy Haley. Our favorite French author (inside joke) started this series, so it’s fitting that he bookends it completely. This has been a wild ride over the years to say the least. Does he bring it home? Does he wrap it up, tie the loose ends, and successfully lead it into the Dark Imperium? Well, um, we do discuss that and plenty more besides.

We didn’t hate this book, but we had a lot of questions as to why this series existed at all. Let it be known we aren’t afraid to share our opinions.

Next up is another return to the Wayback Machine, Baneblade by Guy Haley. It’s one of his early books in the WH40k universe, and it’s about tanks. And orks. And tanks! Should be fun.

The Dawn of Fire: The Silent King by Guy Haley vidcast is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
