WH40k Book Club Episode #14 – Ashes of Prospero by Gav Thorpe

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

And now we go back to the Space Marine Conquests series with the second book, Ashes of Prospero by Gav Thorpe. Our discussion for this novel was fun, and it hearkens back to our Spear of the Emperor episode. One reader had a lot of passion, one did not. One reader loved the book, one did not. However, both readers were very passionate about their personal Legions, and lines were drawn in the sand. It won’t take anyone long to figure out where we sit, especially those watching the vidcast.

Do we reconcile our differences? Do we think this book moves the post-rift story along? Is Lukas the Trickster the absolute worst? We discuss it all on the vidcast.

As for the next book club book, it’s time to go to a more recently released novel, Knights of Macragge by Nick Kyme.

The Ashes of Prospero by Gav Thorpe vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher. If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
