WH40k Book Club Episode #13 – Honourbound by Rachel Harrison

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

When one of our favorite library authors asks if we’re going to read Honourbound by Rachel Harrison, after we thank our lucky stars that it was on our list, we move the book higher up on the list. After so many lore-heavy titles, it was nice to choose this time to take a break from the Astartes in general.

Jen mentioned earlier that Honourbound is  WH40k’s first real foray into a romance novel. Sure, there’s been romance here and there in novels, but the couple rarely stays together. Or they’re killed by a sneaky Ravenguard. But is it a romance novel worthy of the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000? The tagline is there is only war, after all. No one ever mentions anything about love and happiness. We explore all this and more in the voxcast!

As for the next book club book, we’re going back to the Space Marine Conquests series with Ashes of Prospero by Gav Thorpe.

The Honourbound by Rachel Harrison vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher. If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
