WH40k Book Club #147 – Blades of Damocles by Phil Kelly

To get us back on our bi-weekly schedule, we decided we could get through a lovely Space Marine Battle book within a week. Good ol’ bolter porn, AMIRITE? We settled on Blades of Damocles by Phil Kelly, partly because it was Phil Kelly and partly because I already owned the book. We had some high hopes for this one, considering how much we’ve liked Space Marine Battle books in the past, not to mention War of Secrets.

Mayhaps our hopes were too high.

If nothing else, this book gave us a better understanding of the Tau. Enough to like them and try the Farsight series of books? NOPE. Still aren’t fans, sorry.

We finally have a new, NEW book to read! Next up is Fulgrim: The Perfect Son by Jude Reid. We couldn’t help but notice that the reviews on Amazon and Goodreads are…lacking, but we’re trying to stay optimistic! Jude Reid hasn’t let us down yet!

The Blades of Damocles by Phil Kelly vidcast is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
