WH40k Book Club Episode #98 – Warboss by Mike Brooks

We didn’t splurge on Warboss by Mike Brooks when the book first released as a limited edition last year. I know that’s probably quite shocking that we skipped out on a limited edition, especially one about orks. But now that Warboss is available for the masses (and us!), we jumped on it as soon as we could. After the heavy-handed melodrama in Ahriman: Eternal, we were ready for something fun. An ork book is 100% the way to go for something fun in the WH40k universe. If there’s not a new ork book, there’s always Ciaphas Cain.

You know we loved this book. You know we laughed really hard throughout. It’s a book from the orks’ perspective (mostly), it has insights into ork culture and philosophy, so what’s not to like? You know who doesn’t find orks funny? Heretics.

Next up is a new NEW book, The Lion: Son of the Forest by Mike Brooks. We’re both extremely excited to read about the Lion’s return, but you can probably guess who has been squealing with glee since the announcement.

The Warboss by Mike Brooks vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
