Back when we had our Patreon shows, we discussed Mike Brooks’ primarch novel, Alpharius — Head of the Hydra. We both loved that book, and Jen doesn’t even like Alpharius, Omegon, or the Alpha Legion. When Renegades: Harrowmaster by Mike Brooks was announced, we were ecstatic. We could not wait to read this book, especially after seeing all of the high praise for it.
While Harrowmaster presents an interesting view of the “modern” Alpha Legion, we had issues with the story that was presented.
We’re going to squeeze in ONE MORE book before our Book Club Awards episode, because it has a Christmas theme: Da Gobbo’s Demise by Denny Flowers. Last year’s Da Gobbo tale was great, which does raise our expectations for this one. Should be a fun and quick read!
