We really haven’t had a book that is strictly about the Black Templars in this book club. They’ve been mentioned here and there, but they haven’t been the sole focus of a story. What better way to show how the Black Templars are doing in the post-Rift era than with their First Marshal: Helbrecht: Knight of the Throne by Marc Collins. Now that Robby Bobby is back and he is not pushing the Ecclesiarchy agenda, how will the righteous zealots of the Space Marines fall in?
Hoo boy, did this book spark more discussion than we thought it would for something so short.
This could be one of the most important books about the Black Templars to date. They aren’t known for compromising, and yet they learned how much they must to adapt to the new age. You could say that their black crosses grew three times that day.
Next book is also by Marc Collins, and it’s about another faction that doesn’t really have much focus in their own books, Void King. How important are the rogue traders in this new Imperium? Is it possible to have a book about rogue traders WITHOUT Inquisitors? We can only hope!
The Helbrecht by Marc Collins vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
