WH40k Book Club Episode #83 – The Wraithbone Phoenix by Alec Worley

After listening to the Dredge Runners audio drama, we knew we needed more Baggit and Clodde in our lives. Fortunately for us, Alec Worley was happy to oblige with The Wraithbone Phoenix. However, as entertaining as Dredge Runners was, how will these two fair in their own full length novel?

The answer is with chaos and grace.

We’ve read quite a few of the Warhammer Crime novels and short stories, but this is the first one told from the perspective of the criminals. But then again, are even the probators and sanctioners that clean and innocent in Varangantua?

We have a lot of new books coming out, which makes us oh-so-happy. The next book on our list is from a new-ish author Denny Flowers, Outgunned. It’s the Aeronautical Imperialis versus orks. This is going to be entertaining, especially if a Rok shows up. I love ork technology.

The Wraithbone Phoenix by Alec Worley vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
