True story: we’ve never reviewed a book by Justin D. Hill. We’ve read Cadia Stands on our own, and Jen read his Necromunda novel, Terminal Overkill. But this is the first time we’re reading a book of his together, and the fact that it’s a horror novel is an added perk. We were both ecstatic to jump into The Bookkeeper’s Skull by Justin D. Hill aka Dr. Hill.
However, we both came out of it with wildly different opinions.
The book is really a whodunnit under the disguise of horror, and yes, the culprit was in the title of the book. One of us loved how it unfolded, and the other was frustrated by it. Can you guess who?
We’re going to stick with the humans for a bit longer with another Astra Militarum book, Krieg by Steve Lyons. Get ready for all of the happy shovel noises.
The Bookkeeper’s Skull by Justin D. Hill vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
