WH40k Book Club Episode #52 – Astorath: Angel of Mercy by Guy Haley

We know not everyone has access to Astorath: Angel of Mercy by Guy Haley, and we’re sorry, but blame Games Workshop and its shoddy publishing schedule. It’s a short book, but we had a lot to say. We might have deviated with Mass Effect quite a bit, mostly because Mass Effect is canon in WH40k. Fact.

This was another rough one for Jen, as she is not a fan of the Blood Angels, and this book did not sway her opinions. At least there weren’t any chalices. Or relics, really. The biggest issue we had was, well, watch/listen for yourself.

But we do have good news! Games Workshop has published a new book, it’s one we’re excited about, AND we’re picking it up before our vacation. Next book is <drumroll please> Dark Imperium: Godblight by Guy Haley! This is going to be so exciting!

The Astorath: Angel of Mercy by Guy Haley vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review! If you haven’t bought the book yet, uh, bookmark this voxcast for when you’re able to pick up the book. Don’t forget, we are also on Patreon! We have two tiers of unique content for your listening pleasure for only a few bucks a month. We appreciate your love and support regardless of becoming a patron.

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
