Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. Every month we will read one book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read the same book. Sometimes we will read different books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
And now for something completely different, we present The Talon of Horus. Thus far, we’ve mainly focused upon the Loyalists of the Imperium, from Ultramarines to a rogue Inquisitor, but even Traitor legions need love too. In fact, no one needs love more than these guys.
A First Captain of the Sons of Horus, a World Eater, a Thousand Son, and a brainwashed Emperor’s Children all walk into a derelict ship, each searching for something different and yet something similar at the same time. Is it fame? Fortune? Galactic conquest? Well the latter is always open for business, but they’re wanting something else, something only Abaddon voices aloud. I know, I was shocked too.
This story takes place just a few centuries after Horus’ death, but its ramifications will most certainly be felt in Roboute’s present day Imperium. How do we know? Well, we discuss that and Jen fangirls out about the Traitor Marines quite a bit. I’m even coming around to the idea that they’re not all evil jerks. Stranger things have definitely happened.
Since the second book in this trilogy is already out, we figured we shouldn’t stop this hype train just yet.
Next book: Black Legion by Aaron Dembski-Bowden
