WH40k Book Club Episode #32 – The Horusian Wars: Incarnation by John French

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

And we’re back to The Horusian Wars with Incarnation by John French! We enjoyed our jaunt with the Trickster, but it’s high time we got back to Covenant’s quest to stop the Triumvirate. However, Incarnation was not entirely what we thought it would be. Jen and I were both mixed about this book, which is perhaps not great for the book, but it made great conversation.

We had a lot to dive into, all leading up to the next biggest question: where does Covenant’s troupe go from here? We have no idea, as the official third book to this series has not released. Mr. French, you are writing it as we speak, correct? Don’t point us to Divination. We know that’s a temporary diversion!

We’re jumping back to another trilogy for our next book—Fabius Bile: Manflayer. We’re more than stoked to see how this series ends. Since we’re going on vacation next week (together!), we really couldn’t imagine a better beach reading book than this. Just look at the cover. If that doesn’t scream beach book, then I don’t know what does.

The Incarnation by John French vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and Spotify! Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
