WH40k Book Club Episode #29 – The Last Hunt by Robbie MacNiven

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Thanks to Josh Reynolds’ Apocalypse, we discovered a new-found love for the White Scars. With the Black Library not publishing anything new (thanks, corona), we figured this was as good of a time as any to read a book solely about the White Scars. We turned to The Last Hunt by Robbie MacNiven to fill that void.

Our feelings were a bit mixed, but all in all, we had a good time. We definitely learned more about the White Scars, and we are now wondering what is going on with the eldar and tyranids. We’ve come across a number of books in this post-rift world regarding both, not to mention Fabius Bile’s own interactions with the eldar.

Next up is a book series we were recommended by another listener, The Horusian Wars. Guess we can’t get enough Inquisition either? First book is Resurrection by John French.

The Last Hunt by Robbie MacNiven vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and Spotify! Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
