Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
Not sure what is going on with the Imperial Fists, but Fist of the Imperium by Andy Clark the second book to feature them in the Space Marine Conquests series alone. And they aren’t sieging or fortifying this round. They’re actually…on the offensive?
A planet under the Fists’ protection has come down with a nasty case of genestealers, a threat that the original squad of Fists didn’t see until it was far too late. A new company of Fists has come to clean up the mess, and Primaris Librarian Lydorran has to lead the charge. As he clings to his ideals to try to save the planet, everyone around him wonders if what they’re doing is truly saving the planet. But under Space Marine logic, what does it really mean to “save” a planet?
Jen and I did not agree on this book at all. In fact, I’d put this up there with our division regarding Spear of the Emperor. But that makes for a lively discussion, right? Well, it WOULD HAVE if our technology cooperated with us. Video/audio freezes, audio hiccups…it’s all incredibly embarrassing. We thought about re-recording for a hot minute, but a lot of the discourse would be lost in a repeat. We thank you for bearing with us! (Also, we announce a giveaway in this episode!)
For the next book, we’re returning to Inquisitor Crowl and his feisty Interrogator, Spinoza. We’re thrilled to find out what this dynamic duo does next on Terra in Vaults of Terra: Hollow Mountain.
The Fist of the Imperium by Andy Clark vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Spotify! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review! If you haven’t bought the book yet, better do that before giving a listen!
