WH40k Book Club Episode #21 – Rites of Passage by Mike Brooks

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Jen says we read too much Spess Marines, so she pushed for Rites of Passage by Mike Brooks. There are definitely zero Space Marines within, but there are plenty of Navigators, Chaos cultists, and an Inquisitor, oh my! If anyone wants to know more about the lives of astropaths, then this book will definitely scratch that itch. We dive into the book’s strengths, weaknesses, and level of Chaos. Spoiler warning: we were divided on this book this time.

And by the way, we had some technical difficulties with this one, which we apologize for. We hope we’ve made up for it with the editing.

Next up is another step away from Space Marines with Mark of Faith by Rachel Harrison as we dive more into the Adeptas Sororitas and the Saints. If previous encounters with the Battle Sisters are any indication, we’re in for a wild ride.

The Rites of Passage by Mike Brooks vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Spotify! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
