WH40k Book Club Episode #2 – The Magos by Dan Abnett

And here we have it, the second Warhammer 40,000 Book Club podcast and vidcast episode! This episode we know isn’t quite fair, because you really can’t read [easyazon_link identifier=”1784967025″ locale=”US” tag=”chocoboyoga-20″]The Magos[/easyazon_link] and understand it without reading the entire [easyazon_link identifier=”B01N94AXH7″ locale=”US” tag=”chocoboyoga-20″]Eisenhorn[/easyazon_link] trilogy first. So we understand if you need to bookmark this one for later.

The Magos is a whopper of a book, containing several short stories in addition to a novel called The Magos. In order to understand the novel, you need the short stories. To understand the short stories, you need the Eisenhorn trilogy. And as I’ve learned, you need the [easyazon_link identifier=”1616641061″ locale=”US” tag=”chocoboyoga-20″]Ravenor[/easyazon_link] trilogy as well. That’s a lot of backstory to have in your arsenal before you can even crack the cover.

That said, we had another fun episode of discussing a WH40k novel. We especially enjoyed getting back into our usual argument of whether Eisenhorn is a heretic. What do you think?

Next book for May 2019: [easyazon_link identifier=”1784968927″ locale=”US” tag=”chocoboyoga-20″]Blood of Iax[/easyazon_link]

The vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher. If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
