WH40k Book Club Episode #183 – Raldoron: Revenant by Guy Haley

Last time, we read the “regular” WH40k Character Series featuring Bjorn Fell-Handed, and now we’re traveling back 10,000 years before for an entry in the Horus Heresy Character Series, Raldoron: Revenant by Guy Haley. These books have been incredibly varied in when they take place in the 31st millennium. Valdor and Sigismund took place before the start of the Heresy, Zardu Layak took place during, and Luther and Eidolon both took place sometime afterward. Raldoron also took place during the Heresy, but it’s in between the Heresy and the Siege of Terra. On the one hand, sure, I guess and on the other, but why this story?

My theory is that Guy Haley really wanted the Red Thirst problem that James Swallow pointed out in Fear to Tread be resolved a little bit.

I’m still getting plagued by camera issues, so apologies for that. I have my theories about that as well.

Next up stars one of our favorite renegade Space Marines, Huron Blackheart, in Blackheart: Claws of the Maelstrom by Marc Collins. We’re…cautiously optimistic.

The Raldoron: Revenant by Guy Haley episode is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
