We’ve gone from one character series in the 40k universe to the 30k universe, and well, we’re not sure if this one was much better. We know that Zardu Layak is a Named Character™ in the Horus Heresy, and he’s fairly important to the Word Bearers overall. However, was his book, Zardu Layak: The Crimson Apostle by Rich McCormick, really that necessary for his lore?
This book clearly wasn’t written with us in mind.
For the true Word Bearers fans out there, please let us know what we missed with this one. Did this hit hard for you? Was this exactly what you wanted from a book about Zardu Layak?
It’s time for our own summer vacations, so sadly, we won’t be back with a piping hot fresh episode until late July. However, we’ll be back with two episodes when that happens, as we’re going to read both volumes of Hive by Dan Abnett while we’re out.
The Zardu Layak: The Crimson Apostle by Rich McCormick episode is on YouTube, Spotify, and Rumble. Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
