We’re back in the world of WH40k with Broken Crusade by Steven B. Fischer. We really enjoyed Witchbringer, so we had high hopes for Fischer’s next novel. What we learned instead is that perhaps the Black Templars are not our cups of tea. We might have said that cliche way too many times.
Kind of crazy to pit the rigid and stuffy Black Templars against the crazed and bloodthirsty World Eaters, and yet, the two reflected one another quite well. You think that it’s mentioned at all in the annals of the Black Templars that the reason why Sigismund chained his sword to his wrist was from fighting in the pits with his BFF Khârn? Yeah, probably not.
Next book is the last unread novel from 2024, Leontus: Lord Solar by Rob Young. Leontus isn’t as well known as say Cypher or Lelith Hesperax, but he plays quite the important role among the Astra Militarum. It’s always fun to read about this universe from a mere human’s point of view.

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
