WH40k Book Club Episode #139 – Daemonhammer by Darius Hinks

We’re kicking off the year with the last few books that closed out 2024, starting with Daemonhammer by Darius Hinks. For whatever reason, this book never ranked very high in our polls when we asked which book we should read next. Was it because people weren’t reading it or because they were meh on it? Perhaps I should have asked that of everyone before recording, but ah well. Personally, I think it was a bit of both, because while I loved the book, Jen was slightly meh.

Inquisitor Coteaz in a nutshell

Next book is the long-awaited novel about the Leagues of Votann aka Space Dwarves, The High Kahl’s Oath by Gav Thorpe. We had some mention of the Kin in The Hand of Abaddon, but this will be the first time they’ve had their own Black Library novel just for them. Really curious how Space Dwarves will fit in the current universe, that’s for sure!

The Daemonhammer by Darius Hinks vidcast is on YouTube and now Spotify! Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
