WH40k Book Club Episode #136 – Dominion Genesis by Jonathan D. Beer

Jen was pretty excited to read Dominion Genesis by Jonathan D. Beer. She likes the Adeptus Mechanicus, whereas I do not. It was suggested to me that I might like it since Titandeath actually got me to care about the Titans, and so I was willing to keep an open mind. Hooo boy, how this novel disappointed us both.

This was a fired up discussion. We had quite a few opinions about the characters, the plot, overarching themes, basically everything we were supposed to make notes of in high school English class. I warned everyone in the Discord that I would not be kind, and I was not. Ye have been warned.

Next up is Above and Beyond by Denny Flowers. We’re back to seeing what Lucille von Shard is up to! Is she still flying drunk? Is the propagandist still following her? Who’s up for more Flying Ace in Space? It’s a hefty book compared to the last few, but if it’s as fun as Outgunned was, it will be worth it.

The Dominion Genesis by Jonathan D. Beer vidcast is on YouTube and now Spotify! Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
