WH40k Book Club Episode #133 – Dawn of Fire: Hand of Abaddon by Nick Kyme

Here we go again. Another Dawn of Fire novel. We haven’t been shy about how we’ve felt about this series, especially not Nick Kyme’s first entry in it, The Iron Kingdom. To say we weren’t looking forward to this installment is putting it quite lightly. And this is exactly why we pushed Hand of Abaddon by Nick Kyme ahead of the other new books we have waiting in the wings: to get it over with.

As this is the penultimate entry, we did not envy Mr. Kyme’s task in bringing all of the insane plot threads across the first seven books together. We haven’t been sure how these books fit together since Throne of Light. It’s a tall order, but we have to admit that he did a bang-up job doing so. But do we like where this is going?

To coincide with the Halloween season, we figured nothing fit that bill better than a story about some Exorcists, Oaths of Damnation by Robbie MacNiven. We haven’t read a book by him in a long while, so this should be fun!

The Dawn of Fire: Hand of Abaddon by Nick Kyme vidcast is on YouTube and now Spotify! Of course you can still find the audio podcast on Apple Podcasts and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts. If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
