WH40k Book Club Episode #132 – Dead Men Walking by Steve Lyons

Well, we’ve been disappointed quite often as of late, and I’d be lying if I said we had zero trepidation with Dead Men Walking by Steve Lyons. Sure, we loved Krieg and Siege of Vraks, but considering this novel is the first of the series, couldn’t it be extremely rough? We’ve certainly seen that before.

It certainly could have, but fortunately for our fragile little brains right now, it was NOT.

Steve Lyons really has nailed down writing about the Krieg. However, there are two things we’ll never forgive him for in this book.

Even though we have a bunch of new books on the horizon, we’re bumping up the next Dawn of Fire book in the queue. That’s right, against our better judgment and with Jen kicking and screaming, we’re reading Hand of Abaddon by Nick Kyme next. Just gotta rip off this band-aid while we can. And who knows; maybe it won’t be as bad as we’re anticipating. Maybe. Hopefully.

The Dead Men Walking by Steve Lyons vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
