WH40k Book Club Episode #130 – Ahriman: Undying by John French

We knew that Ahriman: Undying by John French would be basically another football for WH40k Charlie Brown to kick. However, we didn’t expect it to go like THIS. It was another rough one for both of us, but we had a very spirited conversation about it. Despite the fact that the book calls upon tropes that annoy us both, we really did like the narrative approach French used.

That said, however, unfortunately Ahriman got in the way of making this narrative a good story. And the Harlequins. With their dance fighting.

Can’t really get into much else without spoiling the entire voxcast, so you’ll just have to watch/listen!

We are super excited about the next book, however. After much deliberation, a poll, and a prayer to the gods of chance, Daemonbreaker by Jude Reid won out in the end. If you really wanted us to read Dead Men Walking next, fret not! It will follow Daemonbreaker.

The Ahriman: Undying by John French vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
