We’re back! Thank you all so much for being so patient and understanding during our hiatus. Jen and her family especially appreciate it. But now that we are back, what better way to jump feet first into the Black Library than with a Catachan book with tyranids? Victoria Hayward proudly presented us with such an opportunity in Deathworlder, and wow, this book was just what the doctor ordered.
For an Astra Militarum novel, this was nigh perfect. It got in, got out, and didn’t overstay its welcome. Lots of fighting, lots of reflections on the Imperium as a whole, and we got Catachan and Cadians fighting side-by-side. That alone made for entertainment.
For our next book, I left it up for a vote on our channel. We have nothing new but a whole lot of omnibuses to get through. With so many viewers requesting we read a Dark Angels book next, I figured a vote would be fun. It turns out, a vote is NOT fun, and everyone enjoys making me suffer with our next book, Void Stalker by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Night Lords and eldar. At least it means I’ll get to read more about Octavia, the real hero of the story.
The Deathworlder by Victoria Hayward vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
