Since the only new WH40k books Games Workshop has published this year is a Siege of Terra novel, which isn’t even 40k, we jumped back into the Wayback Machine. Jen is finally getting me to read her beloved Night Lords series by Aaron Dembski-Bowden, starting with Soul Hunter.
If you’ve listened to this podcast or watched the vidcast for any period of time, you know Jen has an affinity toward the human skin-flensing nightmares. Her placard on the vidcast even includes the hashtag, “#TeamXarl.” She talked me into buying the omnibus years ago, but I never got around to it because there were so many other books to read and something, something, Horus Heresy. So now that she’s forced me to finally get on board, how did it go? And will our friendship survive a disagreement over these treasured books?
Guess you’ll have to watch and listen to find out!
I can spoil the fact that it doesn’t destroy our friendship, as we have another book planned for the next episode. We’re still in the Wayback Machine, but since GW is re-releasing the Yarrick Omnibus, let’s start there with Imperial Creed by David Annandale.
The Soul Hunter by Aaron Dembski-Bowden vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
