WH40k Book Club Episode #11 – Watchers of the Throne: The Emperor’s Legion by Chris Wraight

Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. Every month we will read one book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read the same book. Sometimes we will read different books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.

A YouTube random citizen has suggested to us for several book episodes now that we NEED to read Watchers of the Throne by Chris Wraight. We were told it explains the references to daemons running in the streets of Terra, the aftermath of the fall of Cadia, and numerous other things. So we finally listened and read the thing, and oh my. We owe a great deal of thanks to Random Citizen.

This voxcast is rather informal, as we were in the same room together! And we casted while a wee bit tipsy from all the wine tastings that day. While I can say that this first annual Wine and Warhammer Weekend was a great success, this is definitely not our most “professional” work. If this is your first voxcast to watch/listen to, don’t judge us based on this episode. We have ten others you can judge us on.

Our next book is Devastation of Baal by—you guessed it—Guy Haley. We gotta continue our trek into backstory for the Dark Imperium before the third novel in the trilogy releases. Jen thinks I may need thoughts and prayers to get through this book, but those will only be needed if Mr. Haley kills off Rafen. Rafen has been through enough, and I haven’t even finished the omnibus yet. YOU LEAVE RAFEN ALONE!

Ahem.

The Watchers of the Throne by Chris Wraight vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher. If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!

Keri

It was all thanks to a little game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that alerted Keri to the intricate world of WH40K. She's not into tabletop gaming, but she loves extended lore. After getting through just one omnibus, it was all downhill from there. She can't leave the local Citadel without $150 in books.
