Faction: Imperial Guard
What it’s about: A disgraced Vostroyan guard tells his tale of horror and death to a rescuer who has found him on a lonely, freezing planet.
Why you should listen to it: This is the Black Library’s first foray into outright horror, and it’s not only a successful horror story, it’s one of the best audio books I’ve listened to in awhile. The voice work is well done, and the descriptions of the undead creatures stalking Vossk are excellent. The story keeps you on edge until the very end, when a rarely seen faction shows up, and then things get extra disturbing.
