Book Club Book #7 – Spear of the Emperor

The scattered worlds of the Elara’s Veil nebula were once protected by the oath of unity sworn by three mighty Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes. The Star Scorpions were undone by flaws in their genetic coding. The Celestial Lions were ravaged by the Inquisition for sins they did not commit. Amadeus Kaias Incarius, a brother of the Mentor Legion, is commanded to cross the Great Rift and assess the Spears’ war-readiness, only to be drawn into the chaotic plight of a depleted crusade on the Imperium’s benighted frontier. • Amadeus and Breac are very different space marines. Do you like them?
• What could the Lions have questioned the Inquisition about?
• Do you like Anuradha? On a scale of 1-Lotara, how much of a badass is she?
• Spoiler question (highlight to read the spoilery parts): This book establishes 3 important concepts: 1. Primarus marines are on the other side of the rift, which means Chaos most likely has Primarus now; 2. The Calgarian Rites are a thing, and Marneus Calgar has been hashtag-upgraded; 3. Guilliman is preparing to sacrifice 1/2 the Imperium. How does this change the world of WH40k?
