Book Club Book #124: Void Stalker by Aaron Dembski-Bowden

Every two weeks we read a new book in the WH40k universe and discuss it on our podcast. We invite you to read along with us and join in on our conversation via comments, Twitter, email, or vox cast.

For this episode, we’re reading the final entry to the Night Lords Trilogy, Void Stalker by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. You can purchase it at AmazonBlack Library, or Audible.

From the back of the book:

The hunters have become the hunted. The Night Lords flee to the dark fringes of the Imperium to escape their relentless pursuers – the aeldari of Craftworld Ulthwé. Their flight takes them to the carrion world of Tsagualsa, where their primarch died and their Legion was broken. There, history will repeat itself as a deadly assassin stalks the shadows, and the Night Lords are drawn into a battle they are destined to lose.

Questions to ponder after reading Void Stalker:

  • Did you like the book?
  • Which parts stood out to you?
  • In the end, everyone gets a “moment.” Who gets the best final moment? Who deserved better?
  • Were you surprised by who survives?
  • This book has a lot of commentary on the 8th legion in general. Did you like the musings? Were they compelling?
  • What do you make of their shenanigans on Tsagualsa? Did it fit within their idiom?
  • Was this a good use of the Aeldari? Did they just “meet their future on the path to avoid it?”
  • What happens next with Decimus? Who IS Decimus?
  • Do you want more Night Lords from ADB?
