It was so nice to read a new book, especially one about the Krieg by Steve Lyons, Siege of Vraks. Lyons was masterful before with Krieg, and he proves once again how well he GETS this Astra Militarum faction.
Even more importantly, he gets how brutal trench warfare actually is. You want to know why there aren’t many movies about World War I? This book hammers home exactly why. There is nothing exciting about trench warfare, and yet Lyons knows how build incredible storytelling with it.
I could gush about this book all day, but it’s best if you find out yourself how we really felt about this book. If you read it (which you should have) and liked it, then you most likely already know!
Unfortunately, by the time of this recording (things could change), we do not have new books yet. However, we have word that new books have shipped, and we hope to have them by the next book club meeting. As such, we’re reading a novella about everyone’s second favorite commissar, Yarrick: Chains of Golgotha. This means we’ll be back next week with another episode and hopefully new books to read. And we’ll get back on schedule after summer vacation.
The Siege of Vraks by Steve Lyons vidcast is, of course, on YouTube, and the podcast is on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and virtually anywhere else you can find podcasts! If you haven’t read the book yet, better do that before you listen! If you like us, please subscribe or even leave a review!
Each episode will be in a traditional book club format. We will read one mutually agreed upon book to discuss at the club meeting aka podcast. Sometimes we will read brand new books, sometimes we will read old books, but there will be a method to our madness as to why.
